1. Register as a walker and start collecting pledges today. 

2. Gather sponsors.  Download the sponsorship pledge form  and start asking for sponsors to support you. 

Get high tech!  Use email, texts, facebook, myspace, etc. to ask for friends, families and co-workers to sponsor you.  Click here for suggestions.Commit to asking just one person a day to sponsor you, or set aside 15 minutes each week to ask for pledges.  You can raise $200 in just 10 minutes if 10 people pledge $20.

Write and call out of town friends and family.  Click here to download a letter and pledge form that  you can personalize and mail.

3. Show Up. Saturday, September 19th with the sponsorship pledge form, money collected and Walk for Life!


 10 SIMPLE STEPS TO RAISE $500 IN 10 DAYS

       Day1: Sponsor yourself for $25

        Day 2: Ask two family members to sponsor you for $25

       Day 3: Ask 5 friends to sponsor you for $20

       Day 4:  Ask 5 co-workers to sponsor you for $20

       Day 5:  Ask 4 neighbors to sponsor you for $10

       Day 6:  Ask 5  people from church to sponsor you for $10

       Day 7:  Ask your employer to sponsor your for $25, or better  
 
                   yet, see if your company will match the amount you raise!

       Day 8:  Ask three local merchants to sponsor you for $20

       Day 9:  Ask two businesses you frequent to sponsor you for $25

       Day 10: Take a break and pat yourself on the back--you've done
                     a great job!


More tips for success
 
 Set your fund raising goals. It will keep you focused and provides an action plan. Make sure your goals are very Specific, Attainable and Measurable.







            ~Establish a FUND RAISING DEADLINE
               for yourself, (example: $500 within 4
               weeks). Make sure you let possible     
               donors know about your deadline.

~ PLAN,  PLAN,  PLAN
   It will take the pressure off at the end.

 JOT IT DOWN....keep a notebook handy...When something comes into your mind. write it.





              ~E-MAIL blast....Send an email asking
                  or a contribution. Make sure you place
                  recipients names in the Bcc to protect
                  their privacy.

~ Follow-up with a PHONE CALL. Call everyone
    on your list and generate excitement and let them know about the progress you are making.                                       ~ EMAIL donors to let them know how much money you raised.
    Your enthusiastic attitude can rub off on others.                                          EVERYONE will stay engaged with your experience and may be                                                                                                                                     encouraged to do more.


 You May not be comfortable asking for money....but your PASSION AND ENTHUSIASM will inspire others to contribute, especially after you explain the benefits of contributing.
